Living for a dream...

After work the 4 musketeers headed out for...
I'll give you one guess...
SALAD.
We are all destined to loose 10 by the time we leave...
OR ELSE.
After our fav little salad bar Kourt went off on search of a new camera.
We were off to conquer Broadway and find some cheapo tickets.
On our way we noticed this...
The streets are COVERED with police officers.
You have never seen anything like it.
The ironic thing is I feel incredibly safe.
We watched at this woman did her live shot.
We are all on a news high here.Moments later as we were all blankly staring at the tkts board a very flamboyant man approached us.
We have a motto here...
it goes like this.
Always trust flamboyant men.
Don't ask why - it's just worked out well for us so far.
He offered us 2 free tickets to Rock of Ages.
A show I haven't really been dying to see BUT
they were row N in the orchestra.
We could never afford these tickets as college kids.
So we took them.
Waltzed up to the window.
Bought 2 more in the rafters for $50.
Split the total and for 25 bones we were all headed to a Broadway show.
We felt great about it.
We decided we would switch the seats at intermission so it was fair.
As you can see - we could hardly believe it had happened.
How could we get SO lucky?
We didn't know...
but we weren't complaining.
As we walked to the theater where we were going to meet Kourt we saw our reporter friend.
Again, I was a bit shy but Kylee jumped right in and started asking questions.
It made it easy and soon all three of us were asking away.
This reporter was incredibly gracious.
She even sent her driver home and said she'd take a cab.
It was EXACTLY what the three of us needed to hear.
Feeling a little under utilized we needed to hear about living in THE NOW.
My Dad has been telling me this for a long time.
Sometimes I get so caught up in the long term plans that I forget about today.
I worry about the next 10 years before I worry about the job at hand.
This reporter said she got to where she is
(a correspondent for CNN in NYC)
by being the best she could be in her current state.
She said, "I got coffee and made copies.. and I was the best at it."
Then I was a producer and I was the best at it.
It's all about the attitude.
She gave me hope that I can still live my dream of being a reporter and not have to move to nowheresville Nebraska.
(I swore I would never go back there and I am sticking to it!)
As I followed her advice today I looked back at the day and realized it was the best day since I arrived.
I am ready to live in the now!She even snapped a picture with us.
I have to say that everything I EVER thought of the news industry is wrong.
Everyone is so kind.
Every reporter, producer, editor, writer, etc. that I have met here or elsewhere has been incredibly kind.
Thanks to Kylee for being brave and starting to ask questions.
It's funny how your path crosses with certain people.
This one was most definitely meant to be.

Then it was off to Rock of Ages.
I am not going to lie.
I was quite skeptical of this one.
I thought it was totally a show for those people stuck in the 80's...
or at least obsessed with it.
As I left the show I found myself saying,
"One of the best shows I have EVER seen!"
No joke.
The star is Constantine from American Idol.
His voice was absolutely incredible.
His co star was a girl named Emily Padgett.
I had never heard of her - but I have never seen a body like this in my life.
She was gorgeous and had the voice of a rock star!
I am certain she is the up and coming Kristin Chenoweth.
(Especially since I was terribly disappointed in Kristin's performance in Promises Promises)
I do have to warn you -
it's a little risky to take a boy to because of one scene.
Other than that - hands down a sensational show.
(Had to use that word there - it just fit with our flamboyant man who gave us the tickets!)
If you can handle it - it is a must see! This pic cracks me up.
Apparently I missed the
"Hey lets look like cute rockers"
I was going all out.
Rock on man!

Have I mentioned that I love these girls?
We all have boys back home that we left to come live our dream out here in the big city.
They are all similar.
Workin their tails off to be smarty pants!
It is nice to have 3 girls to wallow with... but at the same time - laugh with!

As our new fav show says...
I was living for a dream,
Loving for a moment,
Taking on the world that was just OUR style
The search is over love was right before our eyes.

Sure are missin those boys back home.
How lucky we are that they are our biggest fans and believe in this dream more than we do!
