Since the day I married James
Jeff Adams has been talking about the Christmas Olympics he was going to start.
I think he was half joking/half serious.
But what he didn't know is that my husband has been talking about the event non-stop.
When Christmas rolled around I was like a Mom whose kid was trying out for the team.
I tried to prepare James that the games just might not happen.
I warned him with the busy Christmas season there might not be enough time.
I was so afraid he would be disappointed and never want to return for a St. George Christmas.
I was fully prepared for this sad pouty face.
But instead...
He wasn't having it.
I am pretty sure the Adams had no choice.
Like it or not James was going to be participating in their Olympics.
And so it was.
Christmas Eve morning.
James popped out of bed bright and early and was down with the boys.
I only got down in time to take pictures of the last event.
But I must admit -
these events were pretty entertaining!
I mean really...
Stacking quarters, pennies, dimes on a bat.
Who comes up with that?
I was very impressed with their score keeping skills.
Derek McCallister won!
But James didn't mind.
He took home the silver.
He's a good sport.
He was just happy he got to play.
I have this problem.
It's called I have been a STG person for the past 21 years.
My husband visits once or twice...
and he is more in demand than I am.
My friends call him to hang out.
Pretty sure he had more social events over the break than I did.
21 years vs 1 year...
How does that happen?
Totally bitter about it.
Anyway -
I would like to thank the Adams family.
Thanks to you James LOVED Christmas in STG.
I am almost certain it had nothing to do with his wife obsessively jumping on the bed to wake him up at the crack of dawn Christmas morning.
Or his wife forcing him to wear a Christmas sweater even though it was 90 degrees in our house.
I am pretty sure it had everything to do with some sports and good ol' competition.
If there is anything I have learned about marriage it is
if I need to convince James of something
involve sports.
It never fails.

This post totally cracked me up. Glad you and Jess got a few pictures! Nothing like a proper welcome to the family for James!
That skinty picture of james is so classic, karly. Reminds me of my childhood.
