I never thought I would be so excited for Superbowl Sunday.
Not to watch the game.
Not to eat the yummy food.
But because football is FINALLY over.
James used to always joke how convenient it was that his parents met, dated, and were married
all before football season rolled around.
His Dad had his Mom completely fooled.
Once his Mom was locked in she learned all about the Barker boys obsession with football.
I thought that story was so hysterical.
And then I realized...
I never really knew James during football season either.
We were still in the trying to fool each other stage.
Ann and I both fell under the same spell.
I literally had no clue how obsessed James was with football.
Well, I sure did learn quick.
It's a good thing he's so stinkin cute.
But lets be honest.
Even more than the long season being over with...
I was simply excited to have a Sunday with some of our favorite people.
Thanks to Blair and Nicole we were introduced to these lovely new couples in our ward.
They welcomed us with open arms.
And we are lucky to call them friends.
Blair + Nicole
Ryan + Shelby
and Jeff + Robyn
all live in our complex.
Plus, we have Trent + Lauren just a block away
and Chase + Jenna just around the corner.
We are simply the luckiest!
We all pitched in and we ended up with WAY too much food.
I literally couldn't breath by the end of the game
and my skirt didn't fit anymore.
How does that happen?
Not sure.
But it did.
I am certain I ate more than I did on Thanksgiving.
But it was worth every bite.
All of our apartments are tiny
but we didn't mind.
We squished into our apartment and cozied right up.
It was such a blast.
And by far my favorite part?
Having sweet baby Charlotte in our apartment.
I am not kidding you this little munchkin had all of our attention off the game and onto her.
James is mesmerized by her.
Actually all of the men are.
She has impeccable style.
Ok.... lets be honest her Mama has impeccable style.
She was just the light of our night.
We topped the night off by watching Glee with the Tiptons and the Skousens.
A fantastic ending to a great night.
Until next year I am saying bye bye to football
and unfortunately hello to basketball.
But I must admit,
if it brings friends around like the Superbowl did -
you can count me in!
