My beautiful Mother-in-law came to visit last week.
We were super excited for her to come and see our new little life.
We had lots to do and so little time.
Sadly, James and I were both working but Ann,
being the mover and shaker that she is,
had plenty to do while we were away.
The main reason for her visit was James' oldest sister, Katie's baby shower.
So naturally there was lots of baby talk and shopping going on.
Baby Christenson is the first Barker grandbaby and we are all pretty excited.
Katies darling friends threw her a wonderful book themed shower.
And my incredibly talented m.i.l. made her this quilt...
Isn't it incredible?
If you could only see the details.
She stitched every little detail - even down to the eyes of the chicks.
It is to die for.
And isn't Katie just beaming?
Katie is a very brilliant lawyer
but I know more than anything she is excited for this baby to get here.
At the shower every one honored her for being so kind and loving.
I dont know if there is a person with a better heart than Katie.
She is certainly going to be a mother that I look up to.
James was golfing while the girls were at the shower...
After we all met up and went out to dinner.
On our way home James and I took a little pit stop at a place called Milk n Honey.
I am obsessing over Acai bowls thanks to our friends Shelby and Ryan.
I wanted to give these bowls a try.
The restaurant was extremely charming but the acai bowls weren't nearly as good as Bonzai bowl.
Is anyone else as obsessed with these as I am?
We are loving evenings on our patio.
We sat out on the patio enjoying food and games for hours.
The weather is perfect and nothing is better than a little dusk beach breeze.
It was such a delight to have Ann stay with us.
She was so helpful with things around the house...
she even helped me finish these pillows I have been working on.
Finishing projects is extremely difficult for me so I was glad to have Ann's help -
especially since she is a pro seamstress.
James and I loved having her around to go on evening walks and late night chats.
We already miss her and cant wait to see her soon when the baby arrives.
